I know I have been horrible posting lately. Moving is crazy right now. So until I have made it through this move this will be the last post. Until I get there that is. So I will leave you on a humorous note. A group of BYU students made a Harry Potter parody using Katy Perry's song Firework as inspiration. One girl re wrote the lyrics so now its Firebolt. It is pretty good. Enjoy! Until after my move I am The Music Nerd.

Captain Hampton And The Midget Pirates
What?.... Oh... this title?... NO worries it is a fun song. Have you never heard of the Aquabats? NO? Well I hadn't either until my husband slipped this c.d. in the car one day and started singing at the top of his lungs to it. What can I say? My hubby is adorable! And not to mention the Aquabats songs make me smile. Happy Monday! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

My Love
I am taking a short break from the Sherman Brothers tribute to share with you all my new favortie song. If I could have a song follow me around everywhere I go... this would be it! It is from the movie Eclipse so if you want to buy this song you will have to buy the whole soundtrack. So worth it! So listen to it! I know I am listening to it right now! I am probably still going to be listening to it when you are reading this. Yea.. that is just how much I love this song. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow
So this song kind of fits my mood right now. With all the stress of moving I keep thinking that tomorrow will be better. This song was written by The Sherman Brothers and they said that they had written it about Walt Disney. It was show at the New York World's Fair and then used in the theme park too. It is a nice song that fills you with hope that tomorrow will get better. Until tomorrow I am the Music Nerd.

Tall Paul
Boy has life been crazy lately with all the moving preparations. Because of this my posting has been sadly slacking. I will honestly try my best to keep it up daily. So I hope you all had a wonderful fourth of July! I sure did. I had the best dutch oven dinner and dessert! Followed by wonderful fireworks.
Back to music though. We are now continuing our Sherman Brothers tribute/education. Today's song is Tall Paul. A song they wrote for Annette Funicello, a mousekateer. I think it is a cute song and very catchy. Let me know what you think.

My Country 'Tis of Thee
Happy Fourth of July! I will take a break on my Sherman Brothers tribute, just for today, to celebrate this wonderful country we live in. I hope you all remember those who fought for us to have the freedom we do today. So with that in mind, enjoy the fireworks and good BBQ! Happy Fourth of July!

Feed the Birds
Happy Sunday to all! Since today is Sunday I thought a different kind of Sherman Brothers song should be featured. This is a more reverant song. This song also so happens to be Walt Disney's favorite song. When Walt Disney knew he was dieing he had one of the Sherman Brothers come and play this song for him every day. In a way thinking about that makes me kind of tear up and cry. I love this song so very much. So in remembrance of Walt Disney and all the amazing things he did in his liftime and also in tribute to the amazing work done by The Sherman Brothers here is Feed the Birds. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Portobello Road
Ah the third day of The Sherman Brother's tribute! This song is from one of my favorite movies: Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I have always loved this song and when I went on my trip to London I wanted to go to Portobello Road to take a picture with the street sign. :) Sadly I did not get that opportunity while I was there. Enjoy!

A Spoonful Of Sugar
I hope you all like the songs by The Sherman Brothers because I have decided to do a very long tribute to them. It started the other day when I posted Me Ol Bam Boo when I decided I wanted to memorize the lyrics to all the songs. :) Okay we might not do every song they have ever written because that is a very long list. But we are going to make a dent into them. Let me know if you guys are sick of the Sherman Brothers songs and I'll see what I can do. I however think it is impossible to be tired of their songs. Not only do they make catchy, lovely, memorable songs that everyone on the planet knows whether they have ssen the movies or not they make songs so simple and fun. I love The Sherman Brothers! So here's to you Sherman Brothers!
This song they wrote after one of the brothers kids came up and told them how at school he had to take medicine but it was made better because they had him take a sugar cube on a spoon with it. That is when they got the idea of a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down. Cool huh!? I know I am crazy for what I am about to do but hey! What else can a girl in love with these guys songs do? Bare with me please! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.
