You Make Me Feel

Wow I might just be living in the dark or something but the first time I heard this song was when I was watching the finale of Americas Got Talent. I fell in love with it. You should listen to the grooveshark version after you watch the youtube video featuring team Iluminate dancing. :) This song will make you feel good. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Possibility

Yes this is another song from the Twilight soundtracks.... this one comes from the New Moon movie. But... let us forget that it comes from these movies and take the song at face value. It is soothing, sing along-able and amazing. Now tell after you have listened to it that you don't like it? I didn't think so. Enjoy! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

With You In My Head

Okay so I have been a 'little' bit (stressing the little) obsessed with the Twilight movies soundtracks. I know there are many anti twilight people out there but I am not one of them. So sorry to those anti Twilighties out there but you will just have to learn that the music they have to offer is AWESOME!!! My sister and I loved this song and we tracked it down finally on the Eclipse soundtrack. It is just awesome... especially when you picture vampires fake fighting each other in front of a handful of werewolves.

Swallowed In the Sea

I have been asked by several people if I was going to keep up this song of the day blog and I guess... since so many people have showed interest I will keep it up. So thank you my fellow music nerds.
The song of the day today is one of my new favorite songs. My older sister showed it to me and a paticular verse stands out to me, as it does for my sister too.
"And I could write a book
The one they'll say that shook
The world, and then it took
It took it back from me
And I could write it down
Or spread it all around
Get lost and then get found
Or swallowed in the sea."

These lyrics are inspring to me to continue writing and maybe one day get published. High hopes, I know, but I think everyone needs to have a dream to shoot for in life. Mine is writing. I love reading, I love writing, and I love creating stories. I am so glad to have music that inspires me to write. I have many songs that inspire me to be creative and this is a new one. I hope this song inspires you too to shoot for the stars and do things you never thought you could do. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Coming Around Again

Well it is about time that I came back to the song of the day blog. Finally I have moved and gotten mostly unpacked. Whew! There is nothing that is more stressful than moving. So happy to be back though. I love being near family though and because of that I have been thinking about this song. I love to sing along to this song and the music video is kind of cool too. I love watching old family videos that I havn't seen in forever! This song makes me think about my life so far and how I am doing. I may not be perfect but I am trying to do the best that I can. Hope you all enjoy! To end I will say this Music Nerd is so happy to be back to giving you loads of music to check out! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Firebolt

I know I have been horrible posting lately. Moving is crazy right now. So until I have made it through this move this will be the last post. Until I get there that is. So I will leave you on a humorous note. A group of BYU students made a Harry Potter parody using Katy Perry's song Firework as inspiration. One girl re wrote the lyrics so now its Firebolt. It is pretty good. Enjoy! Until after my move I am The Music Nerd.

Captain Hampton And The Midget Pirates

What?.... Oh... this title?... NO worries it is a fun song. Have you never heard of the Aquabats? NO? Well I hadn't either until my husband slipped this c.d. in the car one day and started singing at the top of his lungs to it. What can I say? My hubby is adorable! And not to mention the Aquabats songs make me smile. Happy Monday! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

I am taking a short break from the Sherman Brothers tribute to share with you all my new favortie song. If I could have a song follow me around everywhere I go... this would be it! It is from the movie Eclipse so if you want to buy this song you will have to buy the whole soundtrack. So worth it! So listen to it! I know I am listening to it right now! I am probably still going to be listening to it when you are reading this. Yea.. that is just how much I love this song. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow

So this song kind of fits my mood right now. With all the stress of moving I keep thinking that tomorrow will be better. This song was written by The Sherman Brothers and they said that they had written it about Walt Disney. It was show at the New York World's Fair and then used in the theme park too. It is a nice song that fills you with hope that tomorrow will get better. Until tomorrow I am the Music Nerd.

Tall Paul

Boy has life been crazy lately with all the moving preparations. Because of this my posting has been sadly slacking. I will honestly try my best to keep it up daily. So I hope you all had a wonderful fourth of July! I sure did. I had the best dutch oven dinner and dessert! Followed by wonderful fireworks.
Back to music though. We are now continuing our Sherman Brothers tribute/education. Today's song is Tall Paul. A song they wrote for Annette Funicello, a mousekateer. I think it is a cute song and very catchy. Let me know what you think.

Feed the Birds

Happy Sunday to all! Since today is Sunday I thought a different kind of Sherman Brothers song should be featured. This is a more reverant song. This song also so happens to be Walt Disney's favorite song. When Walt Disney knew he was dieing he had one of the Sherman Brothers come and play this song for him every day. In a way thinking about that makes me kind of tear up and cry. I love this song so very much. So in remembrance of Walt Disney and all the amazing things he did in his liftime and also in tribute to the amazing work done by The Sherman Brothers here is Feed the Birds. A Spoonful Of Sugar

I hope you all like the songs by The Sherman Brothers because I have decided to do a very long tribute to them. It started the other day when I posted Me Ol Bam Boo when I decided I wanted to memorize the lyrics to all the songs. :) Okay we might not do every song they have ever written because that is a very long list. But we are going to make a dent into them. Let me know if you guys are sick of the Sherman Brothers songs and I'll see what I can do. I however think it is impossible to be tired of their songs. Not only do they make catchy, lovely, memorable songs that everyone on the planet knows whether they have ssen the movies or not they make songs so simple and fun. I love The Sherman Brothers! So here's to you Sherman Brothers!
This song they wrote after one of the brothers kids came up and told them how at school he had to take medicine but it was made better because they had him take a sugar cube on a spoon with it. That is when they got the idea of a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down. Cool huh!? I know I am crazy for what I am about to do but hey! What else can a girl in love with these guys songs do? Bare with me please! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Me Ol Bam Boo

Okay I won't lie. I have a deep love for the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. If you havn't seen it....repent and go see it. :) The Dick van dyke version not the broadway version. There is a difference. When I was little this was my favorite movie in the whole world. This was one of my favorite songs from the movie along with Hushabye Mountain and You Two and Toot Sweets etc... This one is just so fun! Plus these songs were written by The Sherman Brothers and there has yet to be a song of theirs that I havn't LOVED!! Thank you Sherman Brothers for being so amazingly awesome! And before you all start thinking Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a Disney movie let me stop you right there..... It is NOT a Disney movie! The Sherman Brothers are just that good. :) Enjoy! Nolita Fairytale

So I looked up the word 'Nolita' in the dictionary and it said: Did you mean 'Nolt'? Which means sing or neat cattle. :) Neat cattle huh? Well now that we know that Nolita dosn't have a meaning we can officially call this song Fairytale or Nothing fairytale.... or if we want to get really crazy we could use the meaning of the suggested word Nolt and say Sing Fairytale or Neat Cattle Fairytale. :) I still think Nolita (meaningless as it is) sounds better. Dog Days Are Over

Did you watch The Voice a few nights ago? I would say last night but that's because I dvr'd it and just got around to watching it last night. I love DVR! I also love The Voice! If you havn't seen it you should catch up on Hulu or Youtube. It is so good! I guessed who would get eliminated every time correctly and so I am pretty happy with the results so far. This girl did such a good job on this song! I am not kidding! Watch the video I love the drums in this performance!
(Side note) So you will notice that a good chunk of songs are gone from the Grooveshark on the right... this was not my choice. Well kind of was. I went to add the song yesterday and Grooveshark said it's widgets were getting phased out. Well not really the widget part of the site was but we could still make widgets. Sigh... So I had to go and re add all the songs... so I didn't end up adding all of them... that is A Lot of songs. Sorry for the cut in songs. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

4:35 A.M.

I think of this song everytime I get up way to early with my kids or if I, for some reason, have to drive really early in the morning. When these things happen this song fits the time and mood. I love it so very much. I had a hard time finding a video so I would just listen to it on the Grooveshark. But if you want to watch the video that is okay too. Somebody out there also felt it needed a place on YouTube. So thanks to that person and thanks for Gemma Hayes for singing this song. It is beautiful. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

I have been into watching the show The Voice lately. So far everything has turned out the way I want it to. We will see next week if it continues to go the way I picture it going. I am just happy Dia and Senya were both saved this last elimination round. They are my favorites! During the first round Dia Frampton sang her rendition of Heartless by The Fray and I loved her voice and the song. I was surprised I had never heard it before. So I give you the Music Video by The Fray and then a link to the version done by Dia Frampton. Watch both please! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Apologies. My family came into town on Saturday so I have been pretty busy. But today I pick things back up and continue posting until my move. Happy belated Father's day to all you fathers out there! Hope you all had a great fathers day. I guess it is kind of funny the song of today is called Waitin'! Singing In The Rain/Umbrella

Now I will preface this by saying that I do NOT actually watch the t.v. show Glee. I DO, however, look up the performances of some of the songs they do on the show. Confusing? I just like their versions of some of the songs. I just don't like the actual show. I know that some people actually love the show and that is okay by me. Not that you need my permission to watch it..... okay now that I have wove a tangle of confusing statements I will move on. I really liked the Glee version of Singing in the Rain. This is why it is the song of the day today. Funny that the yesterday and today's posts both have rain in the title! Crazy! So the first video is the Glee version and the second is Gene Kelly doing the original version. Enjoy! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Forro De Sangue Novo

So today's song is for my husband. He went on his mission to Brazil and has a c.d. with some music he really likes. I find it catchy even though I don't understand a word they are saying. I hope to one day learn Portuguese so I can talk with my husband in another language. A bonus would be that I have always wanted to learn another language. If my husband was here at the moment I would even have him translate some of the lyrics for you. Alas he is not. I believe this is one of the songs that when he sang it in Brazil people laughed at him because they thought it was funny for a missionary to be singing it. Hope you all enjoy! Alright I tried so very hard to find a good video for this song. But either there was no music with the voice or it was a very poorly done music video. I promise you can go look them up yourself but you won't find one that was blog worthy. I really like this song and how it is simple yet amazing. May It Be

Happy Sunday everyone! I think this song is good for Sunday because of how soothing and calming it is. Although to be quite honest when I hear this song I have a distinct memory come into mind. Back to my childhood I am sitting in the backseat of my Aunts car with my best friend cousin listeining to this song while my Aunt filled the car up with gas. It was thanksgiving day so we were headed to my house for a huge dinner! My cousin and I loved this song so much we played it over and over again and sang along. You may think I am bizarre to remember such a memory... it doesn't really strike even me as a moment in time to remember but I do. I have a bizarre memory what can I say. I must have been having a really good time or something to remember it so well. Does this song bring back any memories to you? Unitl tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Colleen

Today's song I will say I got from my brother. He has introduced me to a lot of music throughout my life. This is one in particular that I rather like. Joanna Newsom has a very lovely voice and plays the harp beauitfully! There are not a lot of music out there where you hear a harp played so prominently. I also love how her lyrics are poetry/story put to music. It is just so interesting on so many levels. If you like this you should look up some of her other stuff. I hope you all like this song. Not everyone has the stomach for this music. I know my husband doesn't like it all that much. Although I am sure if I asked him now he would say he did like it. Anyway, enjoy! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.
** The first vidoe may have the better sound other than just litening to the Grooveshark and the second video is one of her playing it. Enjoy!

I really like this song because it is a great way to remember the plagues that well plagued Egypt. I also like how they protray the relationship between the two brothers. I am amazed even as I watch this video of how through all the plagues and pain that he and his people were suffering the pharoah still kept his heart hardened. Even though all he had to do was let the people go, he kept his heart hard even until his own sons death. Makes me feel sad...very sad. It is still just a wonderful song! Really well done. Mr. Blue Sky

I go to the dentist today... and that in itself should call for a super sad song but I don't roll like that. So instead I am going to brighten my spirits and the spirits of all those around me with a happy song. Enjoy the video with afros and big mustaches! Gotta love the 70's! Party Rock Anthem

Have you noticed that there seems to be a theme going on in movies and books about an apocolyptic world? It seems to be all the rage right now. For this music video today I would like to have you think of the movie I Am Legend. Hopefully you have all seen it about the world becoming infected and everyone turning into zombies. Well picture that when you watch this video but instead of everyone being zombies they are infected with the need to dance! Now that is the kind of apocolyptic world I want to read/watch about! My really good friend showed me this song the other night and I had to put it up as my song of the day today. It just makes you want to dance and dance well! :) Enjoy! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

The Art Of Falling

I would consider myself a kultz by nature. I know how to fall quite well. However, I do not think of it as an art. I think of it as a cruel fact of nature... I cannot tell you the number of times I have fallen, stubbed my toe and fallen, banged my shin on a coffee table and fallen.... fell off my bike... okay you get my point. I am a klutz. Now I can consider myself an artist of falling because of this songs title. :) But honestly that is not the kind of falling this song is talking about. And this song is really good. I love it! So listen and love it too! The song of the day is:

Who Will Wait

Today is Sunday and Suday's call for a more spiritual song. So today is a song that always gets me thinking about whether I am prepared or not for the coming of the Savior. I hope it gets you guys thinking too. :)And sadly again Grooveshark dosn't have the song for today. Hopefully tomorrow. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Alien

You just got to love songs you find from t.v. shows. This is one of them. I love the music and feeling of this song. It makes me think of a guy/girl who hurth their girlfriend/boyfriend and then can't seem to be the same as they were before. Now I wish I had a better video for you but there really isn't a lot of good choices out there. I try my best people. And sadly Grooveshark can't find this song. But you can find it and purchase it on ITunes or Amazon. Enjoy! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Into The Ocean

This is another song I found on one of those mornings I was watching the music channel. I think this video is kind of cool. But basically I love this song because of the over all mood and feeling of the song. Hope you enjoy your day!
And you know what is funny? The last two days have dissappeared from my blog! I have no idea how that happened. The Beatles and Move Along. Sad day. So don't worry I didn't forget the last two days. Check out Grooveshark to the right.

The Beatles

It has come to my knowledge that an outrageous musical crime has happened to the new generation! And I will just not stand for it! To me there is one band that will live forever. There is one band that no other band will ever be able to touch as far as how popular, how amazing and how legendary they were. No singer, song writer, band, group, etc. will ever be the same kind of great as this band was.... The Beatles. I read that in a singing competition on t.v. they were given an assignment of doing a Beatles song. No one on that show knew who they were or any of their songs. They had to have people come in AND coach them to sing like the Beatles! Well people I just can't stand that! So today I will show you a few of my favorite songs by them. I hope that this will reach the people who need to know who this group is. The Beatles may have come out with their first ablum 50 years ago but they have and should live on forever! Let the education begin:

Move Along

Utah. This is what this song reminds me of. Do not ask me why that is... it has nothing to do with Utah. I think it is because years and years ago I listened to this song for the first time on my way to EFY in Salt Lake City, Utah. Whenever I hear this song I think of the roads and mountains and just the scenery of Utah. I also think about my social life at the time... weird I know... but I strongly believe that memories can be attached to certain songs. And Utah is the memory that is attached to this song for me. I actually haven't heard this song in forever until yesterday my husband and I were watching She's The Man and it was the last song played in the movie. The thought and memories that popped into my head? not the movie.... Utah.

Love Today

I went through a period of time where all I wanted to listen to was this song. The only bad thing about this is over time I begin to wear out how much I like it but... it was worth it! I still love this song though and have to share it with you. I remembered how much I love this song when I was driving in my car yesterday and this song came on. It made me smile. Enjoy! Orff, Carmina Burana, O Fortuna

Alright so I normally do not put classical music on this blog.. and if I do I usually reserve it for Sunday's. But this time is different. This song just happens to be the one song that goes along with any movie trailer well. I dare you to find a movie trailer that dosn't look awesome with this music put to it! With that in mind I will give you an example push play at 50 seconds in on the song in the video below harry potter trailer and then push play on the Harry Potter trailer right after the green message below with the video on mute. I think you will be pleasently surprised. :) I would skip the song to about 1 minute in... it works out best that way. Enjoy the song of the day:

Orff, Carmina Burana, O Fortuna by: Carl Orff

LoL I just realized you can't move the grooveshark player to a minute in. So here is a video with just the music. move this one in to about 50 seonds and then push play on the harry potter trailer above after the green message. :)

And for kicks and giggles. The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 LIteral trailer. It is one of my favorite funny videos right now.

I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme)

I heard this song for the first time when the movie Treasure Planet came out. Not only do I love that movie but I love this particular song from it. I like how it says how "the world wants me to change but I just stay the same." It makes me think about how I like who I am and no matter what the world wants me to be I still just want to be me.

Lux Aurumque

I was planning on posting a different song for the song of the day today. However, I discovered this song and its accompanying video and couldn't help but post it. This is the FIRST EVER Virtual Choir! Eric Whitacre received a video of a young girl singing this song and he fell in love with it. He decided to send out a youtube video asking people around the world to submit videos of them singing this song and he got a huge response. And so 185 Voices, 243 Tracks, and 12 countries comprise this song. It is so beautiful and moving that I had to post it. What an amazing way to create a choir. To imagine that each person can submit their best performance so that the song in the end is absolutely perfect! Please let me know what you think about the first virtual choir I would love to know!

Through Heaven's Eyes

For the past half hour I have been staring at some flowers my husband bought me for Easter. He bought them when they had not bloomed so over the past week I have seen three buds bloom into flowers. It has been beautiful and today I have sat and looked at one of the buds starting to bloom and didn't want to look away because for some reason I wanted to see it move as it slowly blooms. It just so happens that the second I look away is the time it opens a little further. Darn.... Not that this has anything to do with today's song but I just find the beauties of the earth so facinating. Today's song of the day comes from the movie The Prince of Egypt. I love this movie and how all the music moves me and makes me want to be a better person. If you have not seen this movie you need to go rent it or buy it and watch it because believe me you will love it! I would just buy the whole soundtrack to that movie because it has been on my Sunday playlist since before I can remember. So today's song of the day is a song I have loved ever since I saw the movie:

Paralyzer

I remember when I first heard this song. I was sitting on the sofa in my college apartment with wet hair and a slices of apple with cinnamon sprinkled over the top, watching the music channel. I go through periods of time where I will watch the music channel for fun. I don't do this all the time. But this particular morning I decided to watch the muisc channel and that is when Paralyzer played for the first time to my ears. I loved it! Not only did I love the song but I loved the music video. I immediately shared it with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) and he loved it too! It is for this memory, that I seem to still have, that I am sharing this beloved song with you all. It just makes you want to get down and dance! And since Saturday is a day for celebration! A break from most poeple's jobs and school, I give you the Song Of The Day:

Prisencolinensinainciusol

Don't let the name of this song fool you! Yes, it is hard to say/pronounce, but it is one of the catchiest songs out there. It is one of those songs that I picture being played at wal mart while you are cruising the isles not really paying attention to the songs playing. Then you realize that you don't understand a word that the singer is saying but is sounds like English. How often do you pay attention to the music at the store? Anyway I thought a catchy, funny, enthusiatic song was perfect for today. The singer of this song is Italian who wrote this song in 1972 and tried to make it sound like it was in English. I have always wondered what English sounds like to people who do not speak it and I think this is what it would be like. Crazy huh? The song of the day is:

Prisencolinensinainciusol by: Adriano Celentano

I wish I could buy this song on Itunes or Amazon but I cannot find it for sale much to my despair.... Oh well ENJOY! Feel free to leave a comment too I would love to hear what you think.

How Far We've Come

Ever since I watched the movie When In Rome I have loved this song. I tried my best to find a clip of the movie where they are in the clown car racing to get to her guy in time but sadly I couldn't find one. You will just have to go watch the movie yourself and realize how cute the clown car scene really is. Don't worry though I never leave you hanging for a great clip to go along with songs of the day! You will just have to be satisfied by the awesome real music video that I would have posted anyway because...well lets just be honest.... how could I not post the real music video!? I can't explain why I like this song so much but trust me...it's good. Today's Song of the day is:

Bruises

So today's song of the day is sponsored by strawberries! I will admit I have a weakness for strawberries. Yesterday I went to the store and right as I walked in they were just putting out the strawberries! I knew that I couldn't get strawberries any fresher than that! Plus I knew that no one before me had even touched them! I couldn't help myself so I bought 4 pounds of strawberries! While I was cutting up these strawberries and placing them in the tupperware container I thought of this song.

Bruises by: Chairlift

The reason it is the song of the day is because it mentions frozen strawberries.... and since I have been singing it ever since I was cutting up strawberries I decided it would be the song of the day today! Enjoy! Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

Kingdom Dance

Time for a musical score for a song of the day. Today's song of the day is from the movie Tangled! If you have never seen it before you really should. This song makes me want to dance everytime I hear it! It is for this reason the song of the day is:

Kingdom Dance by: Alan Menken
My favorite part of this clip is when the little girls look at Rapunzel and are in awe of her hair and then braid it. I don't know why that is my favorite part but it is. This is the best quality video I could embed on my page so sorry it isn't the best. Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.

You Always Make Me Smile

Today my husband made me smile by giving me a belated Easter card and flowers. It is for this reason I thought the song of the day should be:

You Always Make Me Smile by: Kyle Andrews

Not only do I love this song but I love the video that goes with it. I know the people who made the music video possible and that fact alone makes it even more special to me. This song just makes me happy whenever I hear it. This is deff. not a song to play when you are mad or sad. This is a sunny day, I love life kind of a song. Enjoy!

He Is Risen

Happy Easter to everyone! I cannot post a song of the day today without having it be about the savior. This first video is by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every talk Elder Holland has ever given has inspired me to live better and to come unto Christ. This video touched me in so many ways and I know that I want to stand up for what I believe in and live my life better every day. Every Sunday is a day to remember the Savior Jesus Christ and re commit our lives to him but Easter sunday is a day where we remember specifically all he has done for us. We remember that everything he ever did was for us out of love. He lived and died for us and then was ressurected. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and am eternally greatful for all that he does for me. I pray that I can do half as much for him as he has done for me. I am a daughter of God. I am a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I know that this church is the true church here on earth and I know that one day I will be able to go back and live with him. I know that one day I will be reunited with my eternal family. I know that the Lord has given us a living prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us so that we may be able to do the right things in this life and return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Please watch this video it is truely touching. If you would like to learn more about The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints you can go to: www.LDS.org
Apparently this video dosn't want to show on my blog but if you click on the words Mormons Easter Thoughts... you will be taken to the video. :)I highly reccommend you do. Elder Holland is inspiring.

To go with the meaning of Easter I will now post the song of the day which is:

Grace Kelly

Ever since I saw my older sister and her son dance to this song full of joy and silliness, I have LOVED it! It just makes me happy okay!? I mean what is there not to like about this song? Um.... I thnk nothing!? This song is one of those feel good, belt it out at the top of your lungs, dance while driving with the sun roof down kind of songs. One of those songs where as you are driving and people in the car next to you will look at you like you are crazy! But in all honesty if they were listening to the same song as you they would be doing the same thing! So in reality they have no place to judge. Yes people.... this is a really good song! Feel free to let your hair down a little....or a lot! Because today's song of the day is:

We're All In This Together

Another day dawns and on this particular morning this song came into mind. Sometimes it is hard getting up in the morning and sometimes life itself is particularly difficult but we should remember that 'we're all in this together'. :) So today's song of the day is:

We're All In This Together by: Katie Herzig

I love the overall mood of this song. The music and lyrics are soothing in a way and with all the hectic, crazy, stressful things that go on in life we all need a nice peaceful, soothing song in our lives. I would link the song on GrooveShark to the right if it were available there. You should go to Itunes and listen to the song there. It really is a great song.

Let's kick off this week with a song that makes me smile. Today's song of the day is:
Tribute by: Tenacious D
My husband showed me this song when we were dating. I have kind of liked it ever since. If you haven't gotten the impression yet, I have a wide variety of musical interests. This will probably get more apparent as time goes on. I just couldn't make a music blog , in good conscience, without presenting "The Best Song In The World" to you all. :) Enjoy!

The Countess Cathleen/ Woman Of The Sidhe

On Sunday's I will always post a song of a more spiritual nature. Growing up I always listened to Riverdance music on Sunday along with the chruch music on my Sunday playlist. I love Riverdance and was lucky enough to go to a live performance a few years ago. This is one of my favorite songs done by them. Nothing sparks my imagination more than listening to a soundtrack of Riverdance. So enjoy the 1995 performance of this song it is the one I grew up watching on the VHS my grandmother gave my family.

Wind

"A great wind is blowing, and that gives you either imagination or a headache." -Catherine the Great

The title of this song made me wonder what kinds of quotes are out there for 'wind' and this one I found amusing. However, we are not here to talk about quotations, as much as I like them, we are here to talk about the song of the day! Today's song of the day is:
Wind by: Akeboshi

Luckily today I have an actual music video for you! Enjoy!

I have to say that this is one of my favorite songs...and yes you will find I have A LOT of favorite songs. But as The Music Nerd it is my duty to have A LOT of favorite songs. I also have a rather wide variety of music that I listen to and I hope to share a little of everything on this blog in the course of time. Back to the song of the day. I first discovered this song while watching the ending credits to the first season of Naruto. My husband and I share an interest in Anime and Naruto was the first Anime we ever watched together. I highly reccommend it to anyone it has a amazing plot line and even more amazing characters with deep background into each characters life. If you do decide to watch Naruto however I highly reccommend watching it in Japanese with English subtitles. The English voice overs kind of ruin it. Anyways I heard this song at the end of Naruto and fell in love with it! I immediately found it and added it to one of my many playlists. I hope you all enjoy this song as much as I did. I will post the video of the ending credits of Naruto just for kicks and giggles. You should all watch it too it's actually a really cool ending sequence!
Until tomorrow The Music Nerd.

Tightrope

I strongly believe that music can brighten your day, enhance your mood, and make you immensely happy. It is for this reason that I thought I would write about a different song everyday. Not only will I broaden the scope of music that I listen to but I will be able to share with you a wide variety of wonderful songs worthy of listening to. I am also proud to promote many different artists music and STRONGLY promote that if you like a song you hear here that you also do the right thing by buying the songs from Itunes, Amazon or your local stores. I would love to hear your comments on the songs I post and any recommendations you have of new songs I can post and recommend. And now on to THE FIRST SONG OF THE DAY ever to be posted on this blog!

Tightrope by: Paul Freeman

I have to say that I love this song and how inspiring it is to me. Funny thing is the first time I heard this song was on the ABC Family show Make it or Break it. Yes... I am a nerd for many different t.v. shows that many people would wonder why I watch them but I am not afraid to admit that I am indeed a NERD and proud of it! I hope you all enjoy this song and share it with other people so that they might be able to enjoy it too.
Until tomorrow I am The Music Nerd.
